The Remote Controlled Power Module (RCPM) and its optional equipment represent a step forward in the control of power and electronics on a big Dob telescope. Up until now, mostly only high end SCT and refractor mounts have had a central, easily accessible location for power control of the telescope. Not anymore!

In case you are wondering why you should add a RCPM to your telescope, consider the following Top Eleven Reasons to get a RCPM!
11. You thought you had a perfectly satisfactory 13mm Plossl – until you looked through a Nagler 13 T6 or an Ethos 13.
10. You don’t have to stop your car, get out, open the hood, and flip switches to turn on/off the headlights, radiator fan, radio, and engine. Why should you have to do something like that with your $10000 telescope?
9. You don’t crawl under your house to turn on/off your lights and computer.
8. You won’t have to stick your hand into a dark, crowded rocker box which maybe, just maybe, has a black widow or brown recluse spider, copperhead, rattlesnake, or scorpion hiding in there. You don’t do that in your house.
7. You won’t have to explain Reason #8 to the attendant in the Emergency Room. :-)
6. You won’t have to lower the scope to be able to reach your power distribution rail.
5. You won’t have to bend over or get on your knees to turn on/off your fan, Argo Navis, ServoCAT, and/or the equipment on your UTA.
4. Your hand won’t get pinched between the rocker box and rapidly closing mirror box.
3. You’ll have the option to connect an optional emergency stop switch so that you won’t have to remember what to do if the scope is in runaway mode.
2. You will have a better solution for power control than what you are using now.
1. You will have the most advanced power system on a big Dob scope on the block!
The Power Interrupt Module is the outcropping of requests for a means to shut down a device without having to think about it how to do it. Its purpose is the momentary interruption of power to 12 volt DC devices, like those which are often found part of a telescope's GoTo and tracking system; e.g., ServoCAT, SkyTracker, SciTech, Dob Driver, etc.
